Mortgage protection insurance is a type of term or permanent life insurance that is designed to pay off your mortgage in the event of your death. It is a concept that we use to protect your family's home.

It functions like a standard term life policy usually with extra benefits. You purchase a policy for a set period, make monthly payments, and if you pass away while the policy is in force, your chosen beneficiary receives funds to pay off your mortgage. This coverage ensures that your family could stay in their home if you were no longer able to contribute to mortgage payments.

How Mortgage Protection Works

Mortgage protection insurance functions much like other life insurance policies: You pay premiums to the insurance company to purchase a specific amount of mortgage protection coverage. Those premiums are based on your attained age and your health, as well as the value of your home and the payoff amount. If you die while the policy is in force, the insurance company provides funds to pay off your mortgage.

What about PMI?

PMI, or Private Mortgage Insurance, is not mortgage protection. It is required by some lenders to cover the banks or lenders investment and make sure that they have a few payments to the lender. This does not protect the equity or your family and they can and often will foreclose if you cannot pay. PMI goes to the bank. Mortgage protection always goes to the beneficiary or beneficiaries that you chose. It protects the equity that you put in to the house for your loved ones.

Death Benefits

Everyone has an expiration date. We just don't know the when or the how. We make sure when you pass away that your family doesn't need to do a Go Fund Me or waste money paying the government an inheritance tax. Instead, we help your beneficiary get a check from the insurance company generally in 30 days or less.

We do offer on top of traditional insurance the ability to get living benefits where available. You can use the cash value to borrow off of while living. You can also use funds from the death benefit that cover you with chronic, critical, and terminal coverage when possible.
